How to Pair Your Phone with Uconnect

How to Pair Your Phone with Uconnect (Step-by-Step Guide)

What Is Uconnect?

Uconnect is the infotainment system found in most Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram vehicles. It connects your smartphone to your vehicle, allowing you to make hands-free calls, stream music, use navigation, and access apps safely while driving.

Whether you have Uconnect 4, Uconnect 5, or Uconnect Access, pairing your phone only takes a few minutes — here’s how to do it.

Step-by-Step: Pairing Your Phone via Bluetooth

Step 1: Prepare Your Phone

  • Make sure Bluetooth is turned on.
  • Ensure your device is discoverable (in Bluetooth settings).

Step 2: Access Bluetooth on Uconnect

  • On your vehicle’s touchscreen, tap ‘Phone’ or ‘Pair Device’.
  • When prompted, select ‘Yes’ to begin pairing a new phone.

Step 3: Select Uconnect on Your Phone

  • On your phone’s Bluetooth menu, select “Uconnect” from the list of available devices.
  • A PIN will appear on your phone and vehicle screen — confirm they match.
  • Tap Pair (on your phone) and Yes (on your vehicle screen).

Step 4: Grant Permissions

  • Allow access to your contacts, messages, and media if you want hands-free calling and text alerts.

You should now see a confirmation message that your phone is connected.

Connecting Automatically

After the first setup, your phone should connect automatically every time you start your vehicle — as long as Bluetooth is enabled.

If not, simply tap:
Phone → Settings → Paired Devices → Select Your Phone → Connect

Troubleshooting Tips

If Uconnect won’t pair:

  • Restart your phone and the vehicle.
  • Delete “Uconnect” from your phone’s Bluetooth list and re-pair.
  • Check that your phone’s software is up to date.
  • Ensure no other paired devices are active in the vehicle.

If you’re still having issues, visit the Uconnect Support Page or contact our service department — we’ll help you get connected in minutes.

Bonus: Pairing with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay

If your vehicle has Uconnect 4 or 5 with smartphone integration, you can plug your phone in using a USB cable and follow the prompts to enable Apple CarPlay or Android Auto.

After setup, you can access:

  • Maps (Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze)
  • Music streaming (Spotify, Apple Music, etc.)
  • Voice commands via Siri or Google Assistant
